New life adventures

Lots of changes have happened since the last time I wrote (December 2012). We started out the new year enjoying the beautiful winter weather of Arizona. We flew back to Oregon at the end of March to attend my sister, Melissa's wedding and visit with family. A few days before we flew out Roger and I had the impression that we might be expecting a baby, but we refused to take a pregnancy test in case it came back positive because we wouldn't be able to keep from telling everyone.

We flew back home on March 31st and I took a test the morning after (April Fools Day!). Roger was out at a dentist appointment and so I waited patiently for his return. After he got home I asked him, "How do you say 'I'm pregnant' in Russian?" He responded, "Ya beremena." I repeated it back to him and he replied, "Yep, good job.... Wait, are you really pregnant?" Yep, I was!

At this time Roger was applying for a promotions with Wells Fargo and one of the new positions just happened to be in Beaverton, OR! We were very excited to find this out since we would be closer to family again. During this time I was finishing up my Anatomy and Physiology course series at Mesa Community College (which was a great series but difficult, especially when experiencing some morning sickness which surprisingly occurred usually after 7pm). During the last few weeks of my A & P class we were learning about fetal development which was very fun for me because I was learning, in depth, all the changes the baby was going through in the early months of pregnancy.

The Wells Fargo call center in Beaverton became very interested in Roger and after 7 long weeks of waiting we finally heard back that they wanted to hire him but for a different position (analytics consultant 2) that would lead him to the position he originally wanted (analytics consultant 3). He then applied to the position they wanted him for and after 3 more weeks (around the end of May) they hired him! June 8th we packed all of our stuff up and headed out for the 22 hour drive back to Oregon. Roger loves his new position!

We found a lovely new apartment complex in Wilsonville, OR and moved in immediately. Downside is it's on the third floor with no air conditioning... two very annoying things for a pregnant woman. No A/C is more annoying than the three flights of stairs mind you; I enjoy the exercise.

Father's day (June 16th) was approaching and we figured that it was the perfect opportunity to announce our pregnancy to our families. We bought father's day cards and signed them saying, "Love, Roger, Angela and baby Miller (coming November 2013)."At the time we announced the pregnancy I was around 16 weeks and still not feeling any movement. Some time went by and I began to wonder if I'll ever feel the baby move! It was so frustrating, but by the time I hit 18 or 19 weeks I felt some kind of movement and noticed my belly moving ever so slightly; it was not gas! It was a baby!  The baby moves a lot now.

Roger and I are very interested in the more natural approach to birth and possibly having our baby in the water. We found a great birthing center (Andaluz Water Birth Center in Tualatin, OR) where we can have a water birth!

At 22 weeks we had an ultra sound that revealed the gender of the baby: It's a BOY! I am now currently 26 weeks and soon entering my third trimester. I feel great expect for the occasional aches and pains that come with pregnancy.

On August 12th we celebrated our 2 year anniversary by not going anywhere!
